County Legislators

There are 23 districts in the Ulster County Legislature, each with a population of about 7,800 people.

Not sure which district you are in? Look up your County Legislative District here!

One County Legislator is elected to represent each district

Our County Legislators serve two-year terms, and all seats will be on the ballot this year. The role of the county legislature is to:

— Enact, amend, or rescind local laws and resolutions
— Set our county government’s administrative policies
— Approve the county budget and authorize spending of our county tax dollars

Legislators look out for the needs of their constituents, both in the present and toward the future.
