Includes the Towns of Denning, Hardenburgh, Olive and Shandaken

"I am running for re-election to the Ulster County Legislature because of my deep belief in the value of participating in the life of my community and my desire to encourage you to participate, as well.”

About Kathy

A life-long Democrat, Kathy Nolan was first elected to the County Legislature in 2018. During that term, she promoted healthy, active lifestyles for children and families and assisted in the introduction and expansion of fun, creative, and sustainable forms of regional economic development, such as film production and trail development.

Kathy was key in moving forward with the development of the Ashokan Rail Trail. Her work has brought Ulster County more and better jobs, while enhancing our health and conserving the great natural beauty and wilderness areas that make the Catskills unique and irreplaceable.

Kathy’s Priorities

  • Job opportunities

New businesses to serve our expanding trail networks, increased film production and local film sites, and owner-occupied short term rentals

  • Health and safety

Proactive, protective approaches addressing Covid-19, legislation to protect teens from nicotine addiction, and working as liaison to Ulster County’s Opioid Use and Prevention Task Force

  • Roads, bridges, and infrastructure improvements

Long term repair projects at repeated washout sites, effective protocols to manage woody debris in streams, universal broadband access, and cost-saving energy and resiliency projects

Engaged. Effective. Committed.
