Jeff Collins
Candidate for Ulster County Legislator, District 23
Includes parts of the Towns of Woodstock and Hurley
"As your Ulster County Legislator, I will work to address the county's housing affordability crisis, create additional housing for our unhoused, and increase mental health and addiction treatment services."
About Jeff
As President of the Woodstock Library Board, Jeff Collins led the effort to find a building plan that meets the community's needs. For over 20 years, the Woodstock library had been attempting to resolve their inadequate building. Only 17 months after Jeff became the Board President, voters overwhelmingly approved a plan for a new building.
Jeff has worked as a volunteer to help address Woodstock housing needs while protecting the environment. As a key member of the Housing Oversight Task Force, Jeff helped update the town's Zoning and Subdivision Code to create more affordable housing and better preserve the environment.
Jeff’s Priorities
Housing Affordability
Housing prices have skyrocketed in Ulster County. We need to find ways for young families, essential workers, and those who grew up here to be able to afford to live here.
Housing the Unhoused
Housing is a human right. As a Family of Woodstock board member, I have seen the effects that lack of housing has on individuals and families.
Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Services
Despite years of effort, Ulster County is still seeing a record number of our young dying of opiate overdose. We need to find a new way to address this crisis.
